The Water Runners are an award-winning Australian folk band based in Kiama, NSW, delivering high-energy, concert-style performances that connect deeply with listening audiences. Their music blends bluegrass, country, traditional folk and roots, featuring mostly original Australian songs drawn from four albums, with a small number of carefully chosen covers.
Renowned for vivid storytelling, strong musicianship, clever songwriting and warm stage banter, The Water Runners create shows that are uplifting, joyful and meaningful. Audiences consistently leave feeling better than when they arrived.
Experience & Credentials
The band has performed extensively across Australia at festivals, venues, radio and special events, including multiple appearances at Woodford Folk Festival, Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival, Fleurieu Folk Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
They were voted Best Band – Australian National Busking Championships 2020, Runners-Up – FAA People’s Choice 2025, and have won numerous songwriting awards, including awards at Tamworth this year. The band is also performing aboard a cruise ship in February.

Practical Details
Minimum fee: $600 for a 45-minute local (Kiama/Gerringong) three-piece performance
Pricing varies depending on distance travelled, time away from home, performance length, accommodation requirements, and whether PA and sound equipment are required
For longer-distance travel, accommodation is required
The band is experienced with touring and camping (caravan, camp trailer or campervan), provided toilet and shower facilities are available
Partners may travel with the band

The Water Runners are not a wedding, birthday or party band
Dom Littrich (Inspired Unemployed, Big Twisty) is a sometimes member and is not available for all performances
