This Stew appears to be cooking very nicely”

Born in Canberra, Stewart grew up surrounded by music and was determined to become a guitarist. Initially self-taught, he developed his skills through programs for emerging Indigenous artists in the ACT region and studying the Keith Urban online guitar program “30 songs in 30 days”. Completing these with the strong support of his family and his community, he gained enough confidence to start performing at local talent shows.

Stewart has drawn from many Country and Rock influences such as Keith Urban, INXS, Brooks & Dunn, Bruce Springsteen, Brian Adams & Luke Combs.

Stewart’s abilities were already very apparent when he performed at an Open Mic event in Queanbeyan, NSW, run by Michael Bond from Country Rocks. Michael was blown away by the raw talent Stewart displayed, despite finding out he was only 15 years old. Shortly after, Stewart was offered a development opportunity under the Country Rocks Spot Light program. This program has helped Stewart develop his craft and given him the opportunity to work with, and appear on stage with, many Australian Country Music names, such as Drew McAlister, Bill Chambers, Brewn, and the great Tommy Emmanuel.

Stewart has now performed on many stages such as the Country Rocks Festival in Bungendore 2021, The Multicultural Festival 2019 in the ACT, Performing the National Anthem for the opening of the PBR in Queanbeyan, Country Rocks Under The Stars Braidwood, Opening for Brad Cox at the Country Rocks the Capital, and performing beside and supporting Drew McAlister, along with many pub performances. Stewart has become a very charismatic performer delivering a high energy and entertaining show.

After developing his skills from this experience, Stewart was invited to sign with Country Rocks Records and start his recording career. He then released his debut single “Your Are Beautiful’ music produced by Matt Fell at Love Hez studios in Sydney and vocals with Gordon Wood at Gordon’s Studios in Queanbeyan. The track brings a Country Rock sound like no other, combining a modern Nashville Country Sound with an old school Aussie Pub rock feel, together with an edgy Country Rock mix.

The ‘You are Beautiful’ Music Video was filmed and directed by Duncan Toombs at the Filmery. A ‘Tip Your Hat’ clip to the Australian classic “Run To Paradise’ featuring Aussie legend Choir Boys lead singer Mark Gable. The music video reflects Stewarts likability, charisma and live energy.

Stewart has a massive future in the music industry and this is only the beginning of something huge. He is looking forward to many more single releases along with his forthcoming debut album. Backed by the ever growing list of music industry family members, Stewart Barton is the Australian artist to follow, watch this space.
