My name is James & I run Forrest Music & Events. I have been DJing all around Australia & internationally for the last 20 years & have a serious passion for music! I have a top of the line audio/lighting setup that can be utilised anywhere you want whether that’s inside or out on the lawns. We work closely with the clients to curate a personalised & unique vibe for each event but also have all the music from disco to wedding bangers and everything in between! Hi, I’m James Hopgood, owner of Forrest Music & Events—a fully mobile DJ service proudly based on the Central Coast. With 20+ years of DJing and event experience, I play any type of events from 40ths to Christmas Parties. Forrest music specialises in creating unforgettable soundtracks for weddings across the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, Newcastle, and Sydney (including venues like The Olive Grove, Linton Gardens, and Dark Horse Estate).

My mobile DJ set up can be built anywhere you’d like. I have 2 x full lighting rigs, DJ booths, speakers etc. It generally takes 1.5-2 hours to setup & that gives us plenty of time to make sure everything is ready to go!


The music for each event is unique & tailored to what you want! I will personally work closely with you to curate the vibe your after, certain special songs and the flow of the event. I will usually get a playlist from the client and have all those songs ready to go for the night. As well as that i am able to take song requests on the fly which leads itself to a fun, unique and interactive experience for the guests!


For most events we have an hourly base rate. If significant travel is needed we will work out a fair travel fee to cover fuel. We have a Premium 5 hour wedding package that includes the full lighting rig, multiple industry level PA speakers. microphones etc & a couple of over the phone consultations to get as much information as necessary to make the day as special as I can! Additionally we have access to a saxophone player who can play as I mix songs to create a really fun experience. Reach out for more details!
