Flash Poetry is about using art as a platform not only to inspire, uplift & provoke thought, but as a catalyst for change in the community and beyond. Flash Poetry’s debut poetry collection ‘The Silent World That Won’t Stop Talking’ has raised over $3,000 for the Fred Hollows Foundation through book sales alone with 50% of all profits going to charity In 2024, He raised $6.3k from the community & his supporters through the Flash Poetry Kickstarter to fund his debut album Reality, Now, now culminating in a live band experience that has been playing to consistently packed venues this year.
Flash Poetry has made a name for himself, taking ANY suggestion from the crowd in real time and taking them on a bespoke lyrical journey that masterfully ties in their prompts, the theme of the event and whatever is happening in the room at that moment.

A highline performance act that is equally dangerous and deep, Flash Poetry delivers a one-of-a-kind experience for the audience, immersing them in a jaw-dropping freestyle that is both exhilarating, uplifting and deeply memorable.
“Nico' performance blew me away. He was engaging, and he truly connected with the audience with the content he sang about. His performance with his band is polarising and his ability to adlib any topics possible made it so much easy for me to take photos and film him as a photographer. He started off at the performance as a new artist only to finish off as my muse in my eye. Not only mine, the audience too. Nico is certainly one to watch out for.”
— Maria Thao Nguyen, Artful Yoga Gallery
“Nico was an incredible addition to our fundraiser. His unique style was met with universal adoration from our audience, and his focus on current issues and his lived experience perfectly tied in to the theme of the night. I couldn't recommend his work highly enough.”
— Alex Dekker, Alex Makes Meals

Flash Poetry (AKA Nico) can perform on his own or with his four-piece band of jazz improvisers for the full Flash Poetry experience. He has a range of audiences depending on the events he attends. They perform for kids at schools, students at universities, and even elderly people at old folks' homes. The range is wide. When Flash Poetry throws their own gigs, they attract a crowd of people between the ages of 20-40, with the majority of attendees being in their 30's.
The band is self-sufficient with all of their own gear, mics, and instruments. They have speakers but prefer to use the venue's PA when possible.
The majority of Flash Poetry's sets are improvised, while occasionally playing one of his original songs off his album, 'Reality, Now.' and/or reciting poetry from his book, "The Silent World that Won't Stop Talking."
