Dr Soul are a 10 piece funk and soul cover band. Band leader Rich has put together some of Perth’s most talented musicians playing homage to some of the greatest songs of all time from artists they love through a beautiful blend of vocal harmonies, soaring brass lines from a 4 piece horn section and a tight well oiled rhythm section engine room.
Dr Soul’s set lists include tracks from classic like Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Earth wind and fire, Average White band, Amy Winehouse, Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, the Jackson 5, along with more modern artists like Beyoncé, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys and The Dip.

We had the pleasure of hosting Dr Soul Band, a sensational soul cover band, at Running with Thieves in South Fremantle—and they absolutely brought the house down! Their high-energy performance, tight musicianship, and infectious stage presence had the crowd dancing from start to finish. Covering soul classics with a fresh twist, they delivered a night full of groove, nostalgia, and fun. They were such a hit that we've already booked them again for our New Year’s Eve party. Don’t miss them—this band is the real deal!

Gavin's Wedding in East Perth, Apr 2024

We hired Dr Soul for our wedding and were blown away by their performance. Their vocals are simply extraordinary and the mix of brass instruments among the nine musicians added such a fun, upbeat atmosphere to the evening. They played a fantastic set list which perfectly set the mood throughout the night and expertly worked the crowd to get them involved (we loved it when some of the band came and played among the guests on the dance floor). And they even memorised a song at our request to play for our first dance. Dr Soul were the highlight of our night and we really can't recommend them highly enough!!

Incredible and talented band! Dr Soul played at our wedding and we had the best time. They are super professional and easy to work with. They are also really flexible and were able to play some chilled mood music during dinner with a small section of the band, then switch to dancing music with the full band for afterwards. Everyone was dancing all night and we received many comments from our guests about how great the band was. Would highly recommend!

Wow. Is literally all I can say! The music and enthusiasm Dr Soul provided for my 30th on the weekend was unbelievable! It was a Gatsby themed roaring 20's to say goodbye to my 20's and Dr Soul brought the magic of the night. The event would not have been half of what it was without this team. Loved every minute of them and will be using them again without hesitation should I ever need another band! Thanks again all.

Dr. Soul Band performed at our WA Branch 50th Anniversary Dinner, providing some light dinner music to begin with, then the entire ensemble had our guests up on the dance floor, rocking the night away. With our 70s theme, we were entertained with some classics of the era and across the decades. Dr Soul Band helped create a fun atmosphere for our event and I loved every minute of the sets performed. It was our pleasure to work with John, Rich and the entire band and I won’t hesitate to consider having Dr. Soul Band return for a future event.
