Double Shot Maggie is a big handful of musicians playing high energy Irish trad-flavoured rock/punk at pubs, festivals, weddings and parties in Geelong, Melbourne and regional cities everywhere. We play the classics, old & new, giving a rocking edge to well-loved traditional tunes to create a pumping Irish sound. If you grew up on lilting folk songs and foot-tapping jigs, you’re going to love what we do with them now.
We pair perfectly with dancing, singing, drinking and swaying with a Guinness in one hand and the other over the shoulder of the random stranger next to you.
You'll be stomping your feet to Double Shot Maggie's classic and contemporary Irish tunes for days afterwards!

We're professional, we're on-time and we're genuine. We love playing music and we love what traditional instruments bring to a modern rock sound. Expect a great session of high energy, danceable music with a few slow swaying tunes thrown in for good measure.

We're self-sufficient, with our own gear. We have our own PA if your venue doesn't, but we can also plug in to yours, direct/via DIs or from mic'd amps. With 5 (and sometimes 6) of us, including drums, a reasonable stage is a must.
We do a blend (approx 50/50) of traditional tunes and contemporary Celtic rock. Most of those are high energy and extremely danceable, with a handful of others scaled down a bit and designed for drinking and swaying with your mates.
For functions and events, we can also offer traditional piano accordion as a scene-setter while your guests arrive and settle in, including over dinner, to give a truly authentic atmosphere. Then, we pump it up with the full band and rock on all night long!
