One person, end to end. The DJ you talk to on the planning call is the DJ who arrives early, sets up, plays the night and packs down. No roster, no substitute, no surprises.

Before the event: one planning call to map the night (arrival, dinner, speeches, dancefloor, last song), plus must-play and do-not-play lists. For weddings, a run sheet for whoever is doing the formalities. For corporate events, speeches and awards cued so nobody has to find the DJ to say “we’re starting”.

On the night: music read live to the room, not a playlist on shuffle. Conversation-friendly volume until the formalities are done, energy built in time so the senior people get their moment before they leave, and current hits once they have.

Access to the venue 1.5 to 2 hours before the start time (setup and pack-down are outside the booked hours and included).
A level space of roughly 2 m × 1.5 m for the booth and speakers, ideally near the dancefloor and with a view of the room.
Two standard power points within 5 m of the booth. No special power needed for the standard setup.
A loading path from parking to the room. Lifts and long carries are fine; just mention them.
For haze and atmospheric effects, the venue’s approval and smoke-detector isolation, arranged with the venue in advance.
For outdoor events, cover from direct sun and rain for the gear, and a dry, level surface.
Larger productions (subwoofers, truss lighting, LED booth or backdrop) are quoted to the venue after a quick call.

No two nights get the same set. The music is built from your must-play and do-not-play lists, the venue and who’s in the room, then mixed live.

Styles: funk, disco and soulful house for arrival and dinner; R&B, hip-hop, pop and 70s–90s classics remixed with modern beats for the sing-along hours; tech house, Afro house and current dance for the peak. Latin and Brazilian when it fits. Clean edits for corporate rooms and family-heavy weddings.

Add-ons: MC from $450 (weddings) or $350 (functions and parties), wireless mic included; wireless mic only; live sax or percussion; overtime $166/hr. 50% to confirm the date, balance five days before.

Public liability insurance held. A certificate of currency is sent to your venue on request, before the event.
ABN 51 577 179 399. GST registered. Tax invoices issued through Xero; purchase order numbers accommodated for corporate bookings.
Haze and smoke effects are used only with the venue’s written approval and smoke-detector isolation arranged in advance.
No permits are required from the client for events at licensed venues, private homes or hired function spaces. For public land (parks, foreshores, council spaces), the hirer holds the event permit and DJ Ivy works within its noise and finish-time conditions.
All electrical gear is tagged and tested, and the standard setup runs off ordinary household power.
