In 1994, whilst conducting a charter in a DC-3, suffered an engine failure on take-off at Sydney and 46 seconds later ditched the aircraft saving the lives of all 25 souls on board.
The Civil Aviation Authority acknowledged this by suspending his pilot's licence.
The last 27 years have been spent writing a book and fighting for vindication.
Rod has appeared on Weekend Sunrise, and multiple television and radio stations. He has been booked for multiple speaking engagements and interest in his story is growing internationally.
