"Its smart, its funny, its clever, even my mum and dad love you! - Amanda Holden, Judge, BGT
123 RAP! is Perth's own Britains Got Talent Semi Finalist Stian Macshane's all-ages show: interactive hip hop comedy where the audience runs the room. Kids become the stars of the show as their ideas come to life in live improvised raps that even the parents love to laugh at!
With more than ten years, at 100+ shows a year and 10,000 hours of performance, he reads a family room quickly: Families have followed the show from a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Perth Fringe, to Sydney Comedy Festival, Telethon Kids Big Day Out and Pilbara's FeNaClNG main stage years running.

123 RAP! is an interactive comedy hip hop show that the children in the room write. Kids throw out words, topics and ridiculous challenges, and Macshane turns them into completely improvised raps on the spot. Mum, Dad and the grandparents can jump in too. There is no script and no two shows are ever the same, so the one your audience sees has never happened before and will never happen again.
It is built for primary-age children and the adults with them, and it runs on their ideas being taken seriously enough to perform back at full speed.
Hosted by Stian Macshane, a Britain's Got Talent 2026 Semi-Finalist. All four judges said yes and he finished second in the national public vote, live from the Apollo Theatre in London.
"The fastest freestyle rap I have ever seen in my life." SIMON COWELL
"Everything that comes out of your mouth is smart, it's clever, it's funny... I mean even my mum and dad love you!" AMANDA HOLDEN
A sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026 and a full season at FRINGE WORLD Perth.
"This was a highlight of our Fringe experience. Thoroughly enjoyed by us all (kids aged 7, 5, 3 plus parents and grandparents!). Macshane was brilliant with the children and boy is he talented. Highly recommend! 5 stars from us." Helen, audience member
"Excellent show! Lots of energy, and great interaction with children and adults. It was the first thing my 6 year old grandson told his parents about when we returned to them after a full day at the Fringe! Good start to learning about rhyming too." JT, audience member
"We're a neurodivergent family and this was a huge hit for all. Funny, engaging, and confidence-boosting for the kids. Not to be missed!" Jessica B., FRINGE WORLD Perth
Clean content as standard. One performer, one microphone, and it works just as well in a theatre, a hall, a library, a marquee or a garden.
Very little, and most of it can be supplied.
Two wireless handheld microphones, one of them a spare. A PA suited to the room. A 3.5mm or DI input so beats can be played from a phone or laptop. Foldback or a monitor if the room is large.
No screen, no projector and no internet needed for this show. No lighting is required and none is carried.
Macshane owns a PA and can bring it, so a hall, a library or a community space with no equipment at all is still a straightforward booking. In a large room or on a festival stage he will work with the house system.
The performance area needs to be clear and about two metres by two metres, with the audience close enough to call out to him. There is no set and no props, so there is nothing to freight and nothing to build. One performer, one microphone.
Outdoors is no problem at all, and a lot of the work is outdoors. What is needed there is shade over the performance area, a flat level surface, power close by and wind protection on the microphone.
Macshane arrives one hour before the performance to set up.
There is no set list, and that is the whole point.
Nothing in 123 RAP! is written before the show starts. Every rhyme in it comes from something a child in the room says out loud, so the material is made on the spot, in front of them, and it is gone afterwards.
What happens reliably every time:
Kids call out words, topics and objects, and they come straight back as rap in real time.
The audience set challenges, and the harder and more ridiculous they are, the better the show gets.
Kids work together as a team against Macshane, which is where most of the laughs live.
Parents, grandparents and teachers get pulled in alongside them.
Rhyme gets taken apart and demonstrated live, so the kids leave knowing how it works.
He performs over instrumental hip hop beats played from a device, so no song rights or licensing are involved.
If an event has a theme, a season, a book, a mascot or a message it wants woven through, say so and it gets built in. Tailoring is not an add-on here, it is how the show is made.
Macshane works clean by default and will read the room, from a family festival crowd to a library story session to a school assembly.
123 RAP!, one hour. The full headline show, for a main stage, a theatre or a ticketed season.
123 RAP!, 45 minutes. The same show tightened for a festival bill or a programmed family slot.
Festival day. Two performances in one day.
Festival season or residency. Multiple days across a program, with full availability.
Learn How to Rap, 90 minutes. A hands-on workshop where kids write and perform their own lines. Pairs well with a performance earlier in the day.
School sessions, 55 minutes each. One session, two in a day, or a half day of three, for assemblies, reward days, book week, graduations and celebration days.
Holiday programs, libraries and vacation care. A single session on site, or several sites across one day.
Roving family entertainment. Freestyle through a crowd with no stage and no dedicated space, for fairs, markets, open days and community events.
Every performance fee includes preparation, tailoring the show to the event, A/V, metro travel and admin. Travel and accommodation are additional outside the Perth metropolitan area, and that is always quoted up front rather than absorbed quietly.
Price on application. Fees depend on format, length and travel.
