Plan C are a five piece wedding and party band with saxophone. Our genre is mainly dance music from the 70’s 80’s and 90’s. We range from Johnny Cash to ABBA and we play lots of classics that are not covered by conventional bands. We are all experienced musicians who have been in the industry performing for many years and two of our members are music teachers. If you like to dance to the classics of yesterday then we are your act!
Helen Ranger (Keys Lead Vox)
Richard (Pucko) Puxty Bass Guitar + Vox
Formed Pucko and The Erections in 1980 (akaThe Newcastle High Year 10 Rock Band); co founded The Marones in 1986; co founded The Pork Hunts (aka The Porkers) in 1987; formed Headbin in 1987; formed Ward Jane in 1989; presented 'Pucko's Jam Night' and 'Pucko's Band Competition' at the Cambridge hotel from 1991 to 1995; formed Pornskas in 2000 and toured Australia and NZ with Bad Manners as guitarist in 2016. He has also played with or filled in for various Newcastle acts, playing a wide variety of music. Richard is also a fashion consultant, a relationship counsellor, a sports mentor, a transport advisor and a lifestyle expert.
Cormac O'Riordan (Cormac) (Guitar, Lead Vox)
Has been involved in live entertainment for more than 25 years starting in Canberra playing with popular pub rock band 3am. Then returning to Newcastle in the mid-90’s playing in numerous bands: The Craw, The Smeads, Its all about Ally, One Night Stand and now Plan C. Cormac also has interest in Irish music playing in folk bands: Shamrock and In the bag during the Irish festive season He is the lead vocalist and also plays guitar. He also enjoys a beer with all band members.
Chris 'Longy' Long ( Drums Vox & Youth)
Formed Mar Haze in 2010 at University whilst studying music and toured extensively with this band. Mar Haze recorded an album, to which he collaborated on 80% of the material. He is currently a High school Music Teacher and tutors drums/percussion and Music Theory. Longy is a typical weekend warrior. He joined Plan C at the beginning of 2017 where he quickly became part of the main line up. Longy also filled in for the 30 year Headbin reunion, which has led to further gigs for this come back band.Rock, Pop, and Groove covers with a difference
Jake (Jakey) Sietsma (Saxophones)
Jake entered the Newcastle music scene in 1992 with local band Einsteins Wireless. Jake then formed, played and toured with local rock outfit Abstraction for many years supporting Australian acts such as Frenzal Rhomb, Nitocris, The Whitlams, The Screaming Jets and many more. Jake has played with many other acts including, Headbin, Mental Subbie, Orpheus, Thelonious, Blom, Soul Junction and The Lamplighters.
